First Set Photos From the Next Star Trek Movie!

MTV has posted these first two photos from the set of J.J. Abrams' next Star Trek movie that feature Spock (Zachary Quinto) and Uhura (Zoe Saldana) facing Benedict Cumberbatch.

The film also stars John Cho, Bruce Greenwood, Simon Pegg, Chris Pine, Karl Urban, Anton Yelchin, Alice Eve and Peter Weller.

The movie is scheduled for a May 17, 2013 release.

Warner Bros. to Adapt Manga Bleach

Warner Bros. Pictures has acquired the live-action rights to develop an adaptation of Tite Kubo's manga series Bleach. Peter Segal, who most recently directed Get Smart, will produce and potentially direct while Dan Mazeau (Wrath of the Titans) is attached to write the screenplay.

Bleach follows the adventures of Ichigo, a teenager with the ability to see ghosts. When his family is attacked by a Hollow, a malevolent lost soul, Ichigo encounters Rukia, a Soul Reaper tasked to hunting Hollows, and inadvertently absorbs her powers. Now Ichigo dedicates his life to protecting the innocent and helping tortured souls find peace.

The film will also be produced by Michael Ewing, Masi Oka, Jason Hoffs and Branon Coluccio.

Bleach has previously been adapted in animated form for the small screen in a continuing anime series and, for the big screen, in a series of tie-in films. The most recent, Bleach: Hell Chapter, was released in Japan in December of 2010.

Team LoveHATE's December Charity Run!!!

December is our busiest month when it comes to charity. From Toys to Tots to Operation Christmas. We are proud to set our trophies aside and pick up our Santa hats to bring joy to those who don't have it like we do. Every day we take for granted those gifts and blessings we experience with our lives so filled with shows, meets, work, and family. Rarely taking the time to actually stop and reflect on who we are.

Team LoveHATE has made it a point to freeze everything in December. Walk away from the gogo dancers, the smoke machines, industry parties, and our long anime / car show schedule to make time for THE KIDS!!!

Our first charity event actually was right before HIN. It was at Tapioca Express in Natomas and it was put on by Lazandro Sapinoso. The Charity: The Sacramento Children's Home. It was a small meet filled with people with big hearts. During a time when everyone is out shopping, several cars from various groups appeared for a common cause. Every car that came had to pay five dollars to display with the proceeds going to the Children's Home. Big props to all who attended.

After our return from HIN "The Return", we geared up for MOAR CHARITY!!! SacCon, put on by Dan Houck and his SacAnime Family. Every year he puts on a show at the Scottish Rite Temple and uses the huge Anime fan base to help raise toys for the Marine's Toys for Tots. We spent a few hours there, dropped off some toys, met a few of our favorite cosplayers, and played catchup with a few of our friends who are usually on the road touring.

Our next event was "Drawing for the Kids" put on by Jason Dube's SCCG and friends at Empire Comics Vault. The event consisted of many artists coming together to create art and auction off with all the proceeds going to the kids and to receive donated canned goods to raise money for the Children's Receiving Home. We even did a special itasha-mobile for the kids and Charlo dressed up as Santa (he wore sunglasses so no one could see his almond eyes). The event was very successful and they were able to raise 700.00 for the Home.

The next day we headed out to Sacramento's Toys r Us to help Rodney Stanhope, (who camps out there for 3 weeks!!!) raise money for Yellow Ribbon America. We came in full force and DJ RSkee setup his system to help draw attention to the fundraiser. With such a prime location and with Christmas only days away, many onlookers couldn't help but stop by and drop something off to help the kids and families who have loved one fighting the war overseas. While we spend the year enjoying the freedoms we have, we can sometimes forget the soldiers fighting for it. I'm not sure how much they raised during that time but it was a ton of stuff!!! Expect us to be very involved with Rodney this year as we plan the 2st annual Team LoveHATE Holiday Car Show.

Team LoveHATE invades HIN The Return 2012

Hey everybody i'm here to talk about HIN "The Return" on December 3, 2011. The first show that HIN put on since they stopped in 2009 and we were lucky enough to attend thanks to JDM Sport.
The team left early Saturday morning to Los Angeles Convention Center for the show. We arrived there at nine o'clock and parked our cars in fron tof the huge hanger doors and waited to roll in. When we came back to the vehicles after grabbing a bite to eat in checking into the hotel there were 70 other cars parked behind us. Unfortunately HIN had to turn all the other vehicles away because they were only accepting vendor cars at the time.

Once we were finally rolled in, we positioned our cars and waited. JV had to apply two vinyl pieces to two different cars. First we installed the Naruto Vinyl on and JDM Sport's S2K that was located by the JDM sport booth. After we finished we went over to install a Diablo design on the JDM Sport 370Z that was located in the Rohana Wheels booth. Both pieces took us about two hours to do. After that we went back to detail the cars and got everything ready for the show.

HIN was just the way i remembered it. The environment was very dark, lots of lights, go go dancers, loud music and models models models. DJRSkee spun at the JDM booth. There were tons of people there, smoke machines pumpimg everywhere. HIN wouldn't be HIN without the go-go dancing contest and it seems like HIN didn't skip a beat. Many big company's had their booths. It'sJDMYo, iClique, ViS Racing, Lexani to name a few. We even got a few shots with the JDMSport models and Porn Star Evelyn Lyn.

It was a very long day for us all and we couldn't wait for the award ceremony. We took home Hottest Final Graphic and we celebrated. JDM Sport took home a bunch of trophies in various catagories. All in all the JDM Sport family kicked ass. We also met with the car club from Northern California out of San Jose called Team REV. Lito was a really nice guy and we setup to meet with the rest of his team which would eventually get involved with WekFest.

When we finally rolled all the cars out, it was close to one o'clock in the morning we went back to the hotel and crashed out for the night. The next morning we hopped in our cars and met up with Lee and Claim from JDM Sport. They took us out to lunch at Denny's. From Denny's we headed on out to JDM Sport, AJP's distributor warehouse in the City of Industry. They gave us a cool tour. It was really nice to see where all the parts come from and all the builds that they had sitting in their warehouse. From there we filled up on gas and headed back to Sacramento. We can't wait to go to the next HIN in Irwindale next month!!!

Team LoveHATE x Global Time Attack at Infinion Raceway

A week after we arrived back from SEMA we wiped up the cars again and headed out to Sonoma for their Global Time Attack car show at Infinion raceway. When we arrived the weather was cloudy and cold. We were the first cars that arrived. The Infinion staff was a bit unorganized at first and tried to charge us for admission although we registered online. After a bit of waiting we finally got positioned and began our setup.

Around 10a.m. the skies started to clear and more teams started to roll in. We saw lots of District 10, TNT Autobody, and a few Emperors. They said they had room for 100 cars but it looked pretty full with around sixty. TNT Autobody took home "Best Team".

I enjoyed the variety of cars that appeared. This Datsun with VTEC took home a trophy for "most unique". Sweeet.

As the day went on, we grabbed a bite to eat at their shop and happened to catch the drift demonstration. I wish it would have been longer instead of just a "oh by the way we have drifting..." watching the time attack was cool but from down by the cars you don't see too much.

Team LoveHATE took home "Best Exterior" that day. It's the first time we received a bucket full of cleaning supplies as a trophy. Tons of goodies from Mothers. We're not mad. lol. Well, we want to thank Fei-Long and Nate for giving us the heads up about the event and the hospitality while we were there. Hope to come back if they do. Team LoveHATE and it's American Itasha Debut @ SEMA 2011 Day 1

Hiya all, I know it's been a minute. We have been super busy so there is so much to blog about. I had to break up our SEMA adventure into several parts. I hope you stick with the blog and read our whole story. As you might know, we headed out to Las Vegas to attend SEMA for the first time. Another first was that we were unveiling the Infiniti G35 Panty & Stocking Itasha to the international community. Scary!!!

Our trip started at 6am in the morning. Once we taped up the old girl, Money, Randel and I were out of Sacramento... It took us like 10 hours to get there, probably because we took tons of stops.

Once we arrived in Vegas we checked in, grubbed on a 10 dollar buffet at Border Station, came back to the room, napped, showered and checked out.

Next, went to Hard Rock Cafe and made friends with the valet guys so we could park up front.

All of Vegas was packed because Tieso just finished performing. We ajdusted our costumes and proceeded to gamble, drink, and party. We finally left Hard Rock at 3am. We all came up on a few bucks from penny so we were feeling good. Next stop, SEMA roll in.

As soon as we parked we raided the Shell gas station next door. After a burrito, soup and some juice we fell asleep in the car in the first SEMA staging area.

We woke up 3 hours later to the sounds of cars revving up and a guy knocking on our window. We then all rolled in the the second staging area. Once we were re-positioned, we received our papers and got the "green light" from the SEMA people that the car was eligible to be shown and even got a FREE Mothers care kit and our staging number.

As soon as everyone finished wiping down their rides, and the SEMA staff handed out all the paperwork the first group were finally ushered via LVPD to the THIRD staging area. I was sandwiched between two JDMSport SEMA build vehicles. One of them being Lee Ho and his Genesis, the man who made it possible for us to be here in the first place.

They split us up into two rows and we hung out there for about 45 minutes and then we were sent in twos and threes to our final spots.

FINALLY!!!

I spent most of the day detailing the "Purpie" till she was nice and shiny. I finally wrapped up around 3:30pm. Dude, I was so tired. We tried another dinner buffet at South Point then headed back to the hotel and took a short nap.

After we woke up we got ready and met up with the rest of the team that arrived that day to walk the strip and get publicly faded. Only in Vegas right???

That was day one.

NorCal Showdown

Ok, we are going back a couple months on some old coverage but its coverage none the less. We have been dealing with more and more SoCal stuff as of late but let me go write up a car show we did in October. NorCal Showdown. This was a show we were invited to which was held on Florin Rd in Sacramento. There were plenty of the local rides and lots of the local groups and it was headed by Edmond Fong and Midnight I believe. They had a nice stage and great DJ along with a good variety of vendors. A few of our team members even got piercings.

We didn’t take anything home(a lot of people said the judging was questionable) but we had a good time and DJ RSkee was able to shoot his video for “Let’s Go.” So all in all it was a good time. Here are some pics of the event but you can find all of them here.

Xbox "Ten" to be announced at CES!!!

We have some interesting news for you regarding the Next Xbox and what Microsoft is planning. As you know the Wii U is slated to launch next year, so it looks like Microsoft won’t give them any room to breathe as the rumors are that they will be unveiling the next Xbox at CES next year.

Microsoft usually releases their product a few months after the announcement, so it is expected to launch in Holiday 2012. Considering Sony has been piling on the R&D expenses, it looks like PS4 won’t be that far behind as well.

All we’ve been talking about and why the site and Facebook has been quiet has been SEMA. What is SEMA? Well, this is how their semashow.com defines it…

“The SEMA Show is the premier automotive specialty products trade event in the world. It draws the industry’s brightest minds and hottest products to one place, the Las Vegas Convention Center. In addition, the SEMA Show provides attendees with educational seminars, product demonstrations, special events, networking opportunities and more.

So in short, SEMA is a four day long INTERNATIONAL event in Vegas with over a hundred thousand people, thousands of distributors, guests in the automotive, racing industry and the best of the best cars from around the world. It’s like ComicCon for fanboys, E3 for gamers, AnimeExpo for Otaku.

Netflix to split streaming and DVD and now do video games?!?

I stumbled onto this article from one of my favorite sites, Comingsoon.net. A lot of us on the Team love our Netflix and were bitter about the recent change in price. Reed Hastings, co-founder and CEO of Netflix, and Andy Rendich, head of DVD operations, have announced that Netflix's DVD mail service will be split off into its own brand called Qwikster and will add video games. We are guessing that this move is being made so that Netflix will be able to land better streaming deals with studios and networks.

An Explanation and Some Reflections

I messed up. I owe everyone an explanation.

It is clear from the feedback over the past two months that many members felt we lacked respect and humility in the way we announced the separation of DVD and streaming, and the price changes. That was certainly not our intent, and I offer my sincere apology. I’ll try to explain how this happened.

For the past five years, my greatest fear at Netflix has been that we wouldn't make the leap from success in DVDs to success in streaming. Most companies that are great at something – like AOL dialup or Borders bookstores – do not become great at new things people want (streaming for us) because they are afraid to hurt their initial business. Eventually these companies realize their error of not focusing enough on the new thing, and then the company fights desperately and hopelessly to recover. Companies rarely die from moving too fast, and they frequently die from moving too slowly.

When Netflix is evolving rapidly, however, I need to be extra-communicative. This is the key thing I got wrong.

In hindsight, I slid into arrogance based upon past success. We have done very well for a long time by steadily improving our service, without doing much CEO communication. Inside Netflix I say, “Actions speak louder than words,” and we should just keep improving our service.

But now I see that given the huge changes we have been recently making, I should have personally given a full justification to our members of why we are separating DVD and streaming, and charging for both. It wouldn’t have changed the price increase, but it would have been the right thing to do.

So here is what we are doing and why:

Many members love our DVD service, as I do, because nearly every movie ever made is published on DVD, plus lots of TV series. We want to advertise the breadth of our incredible DVD offering so that as many people as possible know it still exists, and it is a great option for those who want the huge and comprehensive selection on DVD. DVD by mail may not last forever, but we want it to last as long as possible.

I also love our streaming service because it is integrated into my TV, and I can watch anytime I want. The benefits of our streaming service are really quite different from the benefits of DVD by mail. We feel we need to focus on rapid improvement as streaming technology and the market evolve, without having to maintain compatibility with our DVD by mail service.

So we realized that streaming and DVD by mail are becoming two quite different businesses, with very different cost structures, different benefits that need to be marketed differently, and we need to let each grow and operate independently. It’s hard for me to write this after over 10 years of mailing DVDs with pride, but we think it is necessary and best: In a few weeks, we will rename our DVD by mail service to “Qwikster”.

We chose the name Qwikster because it refers to quick delivery. We will keep the name “Netflix” for streaming.

Qwikster will be the same website and DVD service that everyone is used to. It is just a new name, and DVD members will go to qwikster.com to access their DVD queues and choose movies. One improvement we will make at launch is to add a video games upgrade option, similar to our upgrade option for Blu-ray, for those who want to rent Wii, PS3 and Xbox 360 games. Members have been asking for video games for many years, and now that DVD by mail has its own team, we are finally getting it done. Other improvements will follow. Another advantage of separate websites is simplicity for our members. Each website will be focused on just one thing (DVDs or streaming) and will be even easier to use. A negative of the renaming and separation is that the Qwikster.com and Netflix.com websites will not be integrated. So if you subscribe to both services, and if you need to change your credit card or email address, you would need to do it in two places. Similarly, if you rate or review a movie on Qwikster, it doesn’t show up on Netflix, and vice-versa.

There are no pricing changes (we’re done with that!). Members who subscribe to both services will have two entries on their credit card statements, one for Qwikster and one for Netflix. The total will be the same as the current charges.

Andy Rendich, who has been working on our DVD service for 12 years, and leading it for the last 4 years, will be the CEO of Qwikster. Andy and I made a short welcome video. (You’ll probably say we should avoid going into movie making after watching it.) We will let you know in a few weeks when the Qwikster.com website is up and ready. It is merely a renamed version of the Netflix DVD website, but with the addition of video games. You won’t have to do anything special if you subscribe to our DVD by mail service.

For me the Netflix red envelope has always been a source of joy. The new envelope is still that distinctive red, but now it will have a Qwikster logo. I know that logo will grow on me over time, but still, it is hard. I imagine it will be the same for many of you. We’ll also return to marketing our DVD by mail service, with its amazing selection, now with the Qwikster brand.

Some members will likely feel that we shouldn’t split the businesses, and that we shouldn’t rename our DVD by mail service. Our view is with this split of the businesses, we will be better at streaming, and we will be better at DVD by mail. It is possible we are moving too fast – it is hard to say. But going forward, Qwikster will continue to run the best DVD by mail service ever, throughout the United States. Netflix will offer the best streaming service for TV shows and movies, hopefully on a global basis. The additional streaming content we have coming in the next few months is substantial, and we are always working to improve our service further.

I want to acknowledge and thank our many members that stuck with us, and to apologize again to those members, both current and former, who felt we treated them thoughtlessly.

Both the Qwikster and Netflix teams will work hard to regain your trust. We know it will not be overnight. Actions speak louder than words. But words help people to understand actions.

San Mateo Back2Back HyperCon and Extreme AutoFest

During September we traveled two weeks in a row to San Mateo. On our first visit it was to help our friend, Mr. HyperBooster and his 2nd year convention, HyperCon. Here's the rundown!!!

As we arrived Saturday morning we were greeted by an unusually sunny day for the bay and lots of wind. We setup our cars, the DJ's setup their booth inside and we started to fill up the little pool for our goldfish scooping game. We enjoyed the bay area crowd and the cosplay there was amazing. We also ran into several of our friends. Oscar Benjamin, the "everywhere at once" photographer and writer for examiner.com, Anthony Leano and his bevy of DVD's, Carlyfornia with her always cute attire was selling her wares, and good friend and artist Jason Dube.

We had many people come out and enjoy the games we provided by the goldfish scooping was by far the most popular. All the money from the games went toward Red Cross Japan Tsunami Relief. Mark (Mr. Hyperbooster) also introduced a new type of redemption game that allowed attendees to earn HyperPins throughout the event by purchasing items, playing games, and initiating "challenges" to other attendees in certain areas. I think it was a great way to stimulate the e"Con"emy. We hope to bring more games next year.

Big thanks to some of our affiliates that came out to help provide "color" to the convention.1TenDrift held a drift competition on Saturday. James Solis and his Tricking group "Soulistics" gave an amazing performance which was a mixture of martial arts and dance. Lauren and her band sweet cover band, Kurenai came in at the last minute to totally save the day. And finally, our official DJ's, RSkee and DubDeuce spun lics, did interviews, held panels, and provided PA for the bands.

Overall, good people, great guests, happy vendors and great music make for an memorable event. We would love to come back. TLH highly recommends this con to anyone within driving distance. To view all the images click here. Hope to see you next year!!!

AnimeiCon, Central Coast's New Upstart

It's been awhile since I've had a chance to get on here and I have a lot to say. We were invited to come down to this first year and check out the sites. Half the team arrived Thursday night and got to crash out in the condo provided by AnimeIcon a couple of miles from the beautiful Monterey State Beach. After they crashed out, they headed out to the Monterey County Fairgrounds to set up shop for the weekend.

The DJ RSkee and DJ DubDeuce spun music, met the oh so kind staff lead by Elyjah Mercurio, and drank How ya Bean's "Volcano Drinks" with a TLH twist. Myself and the other half of the Team didn't arrive till late friday night. We all piled into the condo after grabbing up some groceries and got ready for the weekend ahead of us.

The convention had a lot potential with their many food vendors and good sized vendors hall. AnimeiCon's plus's were the the amazing staff and welcoming vendors. Although we didn't see tons of people gathered in one place, the fairgrounds huge layout had cosplayers and otaku scattered about. If they do a second year, hopefully they will have a smaller venue to keep everyone together.

On the third day we able to setup next to each other and hangout. We held a silent charity auction and raised some money for American Red Cross Japan Earthquake and Pacific Relief . We took some great photos with the Funimation guests, Jamie Marchi, Trina Nishimura, and Chris Cassen. Enjoyed some Tako drumming, martial arts demonstrations and various other panels and events. As the convention slowly ended, we were asked to give the guests of honor a sort of escort through Carmel and down Cannary Row. We had a blast!!! Finally we pulled away and took some time to ourselves on the beach and even had a chance to do a mass owling. Too much fun. To see all the pictures Click here for album one and here for album two.

Oto’s Marketplace Winner!!!

Were back from Monterey’s AnimeiCon and we had a blast but we wanted to wrap up something before we begin the next thing.

I’m talking about the Oto’s Marketplace art contest. It took them a month of deciding and even a couple full staff meetings, but Russell Oto and the staff finally made a decision. He kept telling me, “It’s a toughy, I need more time!” After a lot of nagging I finally got Russell to come up with a winner. We announced it at our first annual 1up car show July 16th and he received a 150.00 gift card from Oto’s Marketplace.

His name is Charlie Puengpan, he submitted three pieces of work. Here is the winning image:

AnimeiCon, Undead Cosplayers and Guinness Book of World Records

Hello everybody! As you know, Team LoveHATE will be showing at AnimeiCon located at the Monterey Bay Fairgrounds this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

We hope to see you all out there.
We will be attempting the first ever Guinness book world record for largest number of undead cosplayers in one area. We will have a booth setup outside where you can sit down and get your face painted for five bones to transform your cosplay into zombie and become part of history.

Saturday night, DJ RSkee and DJ DubDeuce will be spinning at Club iCon so you dance freaks better come through!

We'll be holding a charity fundraiser for Japan Relief and hosting a panel on Sunday at 1 PM on the "Western Revolution of Itasha" so keep an eye out for us... all weekend.

1up Car Show... A Beginning of Something Big

Hello everybody. So last weekend we had our first annual 1up Car Show . We had some cars show up as well as few vendors and lots of people and lots of our friends.

Although we didn't have all the cars that we wanted there, we still had an amazing day. We held a cosplay contest, we announced the winner for our Oto's Marketplace Mascot Contest (Charlie Puengpan), we had a wet T-shirt and booty bouncing contest and we awarded several trophies to the winners the vehicles that made it out.

All in all it was a great event and we want to personally thank 1TenDrift for coming out with their RC drift cars, the Sacramento Ghostbusters and Echo 1, the lovely Carlyfornia for judging the contest, Anthony Leano for bringing the DVDs and movie posters, Jack Chen who was the artist that was there, Monique from Seven Points Massage, all of the crew from Nitos T-shirts and Hats who drove all the way down from Grassvalley, Jesse from Mr.Mister, Edmund Fong for coming out with models as well as Peter with Phat Effects for bringing the rest of the girls and all the everybody who came out and participated.

I will be writing several in-depth articles in the next week about the cosplay winner, Emily, and Oto's Marketplace Mascot winner, Charlie, as well as a few other things so keep tuned in and click on this link and check out the photos from this weekend.

Kintoki. Northern California's answer to Fanime.

As you might know, Team LoveHATE does conventions. If you didn't, were for hire. Seriously though, we love attending first year cons and helping them out even more. Kintoki was no exception. We were first contacted by Nicole Stockel to be Guests of Honor last September while she introduced us to an idea to create a convention in our lovely hometown Sacramento with a spin on culture.

We were very excited at the prospect of being a part of something new and fresh. As the months went by we started seeing the promotional posters and fliers around town. A couple of months ago we were contacted by Eric San Gregorio and we invited him over to Club Condesa (our base) to discuss our part in the convention and the possibility of us helping out with some special events by providing some unique performances and events with some of our affiliates as well as introducing a charity aspect to Kintoki.

After throwing a few ideas around we decided to hold the first ever dance competition, Filipino Martial Arts demonstrations, a 24 hour game lounge, and silent charity auction.

Jennifer Bambao of Capital Roots spearheaded the Shobu Showdown. Three dance competitions rolled into a two day event with prizes totaling $1600.00. A one thousand dollar 2 on 2 all styles battle for the 16 and up, five hundred dollar scholarship for the 15 and under, and a Cypher competition for a one hundred dollar cash prize. It was great to see hip hop taken to the next level without losing the essence of what hip hop means to everyone. When you walked into this event, you saw a mix of curious cosplayers and intense b-boy's. The bass rumbled throughout the room and people were bobbing their heads.

The Filipino Martial Artists Academy also was a nice addition to the convention, I wish they performed a little later in the day though. Master Nilo and his squad were there doing demonstratrions and some beautiful forms. They are really an amazing group to watch perform.

I enjoyed the amply sized vendor hall and artists alley. We got to visit with a few of our friends like Anthony Leano from the Land Beyond, Carly from Carlyfornia and our favorite photographer, Oscar Benjamin as well as many others.

Moon Stream was off the hook. Their music concert was super amazing. The lights, sound, and setup was sick and their are a super kewl group of guys on and off the stage. Their performance was smooth and for their first American show, I was blown away. They played the crowd during their whole set and even did two encores!

Loki's Planet ran a 24 hour gaming lounge on the 17th floor of the event. We provided a bunch of board games and even twister. Watching cosplayers play twister was pretty entertaining.We also held a charity silent auction for Japan with various items from the vendors that attended the convention. TLH provided the DJ's as well. DJ DubDuece & RSkee went back and forth all night. I got down on some Kinect games around 2am on Saturday and I know DJ R Skee didn't stop spinning till 6a.m.

With some donations from Kintoki and three kegs from Hoppy Brewery as well as a bunch of hard drink from us we were able to host a Charity Chug Fundraiser for the parents of the attendees and the 21 and up where the proceeds went to the American Red Cross Japan Tsunami Relief. Room 702 was the spot for the older crowd. A nice spacious suite with tons of pillows and sitting space. We want to thank all of the people who came up for a drink. Special thanks to Trash Film Orgy, Moon Stream, Anthony, Carlyfornia and Oscar Benjamin for helping the cause.

Overall, Kintoki was an amazing first year and we hope that they come back next year. Sacramento needs a great place for Otakus and Fanboys alike. With a beautiful atmosphere abitious events and tons of great programming, we hope to be invited again for next year. Although the con had a few hiccups, issues were quickly resolved and i'm sure that next year it will be the con to be at.

Team LoveHATE's Anime Con Tour Schedule

Oh yeah. Here is a updated schedule and all you need to know about the conventions we are attending. Hopefully you too can come out and party with the Original Urban Otaku! Check out each one and see what events and our affiliates have in store for you.

Kintoki-Con: We will be helping out our neighbors at the Sacramento Hyatt Regency Downtown and Japan by holding a silent charity auction, sponsoring Capital Root's Hip Hop Dance Competition Shobu Shodown. Loki's Planet's 24-hr gaming lounge, "Cars 2" screening promo and the Filipino Martial Arts Academy Performances.

AnimeiCon: Will will be rolling out to the cool Monterey County Fairgrounds for this amazing event. We will be holding a panel, having an indoor showing and be providing anime/hip-hop mashup music with DJ RSkee.

HyperCon: We will be headed to the San Mateo Fairgrounds for HyperCon. We will be providing Matsuri Festival Games, bringing our Filipino Martial Arts Academy buds for demonstrations all day, DJ RSkee will be MCing and spinning tracks all weekend long. As well as helping hosting Capital Roots Dance Studio's b-boy exhibition.

Ani-Jam: Then we are off the Fresno for Ani-Jam. We will be showing the rides and holding a dance party during the day featuring DJ RSkee.

SacAnime: Finally to finish the years con scene, it's fitting that we end up where we started it all. Sac Anime. We will be having a special cosplay event and panel with Jason Dube outside and unveiling our newest "Panda Days" Itasha while DJ RSkee spins out by the fountains for a special SacAnime Summer Day Jam.

ProjectRide Car show for Lung Cancer!

Greetings all! Summer season is beginning which means warm weather, longer days, and yes CAR SHOWS! Team LoveHate's first car show of the year was ProjectRIDE car show put on by Chris Bayton and his crew benefiting Lymphoma/Leukemia in Livermore California on Sunday May 22nd. This car show provided two services. First, we got to show our vehicles for the first time this year, and second most importantly we got to do it for a WONDERFUL cause!
The morning started off early with our traditional morning meeting at where else but McDonalds. After our filling breakfast we left Sacramento around 8:00 am with the anticipation of cool weather ahead. We had our three original vehicles along with our newest car driven by Carlo De Quiroz; a Lancer wrapped with Jason Dube's, Panda Days panda sporting Filipino pride. The roll out went smooth enjoying the 1 ½ hour drive through Sacramento, Stockton, Tracy, through the mountains, and finally to our destination Livermore!
The venue was a Kart racing arena called Umigo indoor Kart Racing. Admittedly, it was in the middle of nowhere, but an overall a good size venue with lots of parking. We rolled in around 10:00 am and they gave us a few spaces in order to set up our booth, flags, and banners. When we arrived, we realized we got what we asked for, cool weather! Winds were going strong but the sun was still shinning so it made for an amazing contrast. As we drove through the parking lot it was Lancer city!

Tons, from modified ones, to ones with carriers on the back! It was a beautiful sight. As we set up more cars began showing up from Skylines, to 240 drift cars. As we finished our set up we began taking a look around.
Umingo Kart Racing was amazing! The venue inside was extremely large, with a good size race track.

Jim is the owner of the venue. He was busy taking care of the event, running around extinguishing fires but he still greeted us with extreme kindness and thanked us for coming out. As we toured the inside of the venue, they had a party room where the b-boy competition would later be held along with the race track and prep room where people get dressed to race!
As the day progressed, more cars began rolling in. There were loud noises coming from the front of the parking lot. As we looked over, there was Bay Bizness a bike club based out of the Bay area. They had many bikes, tricked out and LOUD! They sure knew how to make an entrance!

The people who attended the car show tended to hang out with each other but were very welcoming. With our unique style of Itasha, many people stopped by to compliment us on our vehicles and get a better feel of who we are and what we do. There were beautiful models walking around the venue and they took pictures will all of our cars! They were amazing. Out of all of them that were there, one took home the prize of the tallest one we have seen. Her name was Jay and she was 6 feet tall but with her heels on she was standing at 6ft 4inches! She was awesome and took pictures with the vehicles which most of the pictures were filled with her legs! She was a good sport along with the rest of the models.

As the day went on, there was also the b-boy competition. Groups spinning on their heads, windmills, and many other tricks which each group and person pulled off beautifully!
The day came winding down to an end and it was time to give away the awards for the day. While TLH did not take home any trophies we congratulate the two cars which did! The sun was setting and it was time for us to bid adue to Livermore. We couldn't leave however with one last turn of events. As we were getting ready to roll out, a Skyline GTR decided to make a grand exit on a tow truck! It was the icing to the cake of a beautiful day! The day went wonderfully from the roll in all the way to roll out. TLH was able to help raise money for Lung Cancer, and enjoy a great day. A big thanks to Jim and Chris for organizing the event and allowing us to show the cars! As the summer progresses keep an eye out for TLH and all of our upcoming events!

Sac Anime did for Japan.

As we arrived to SacAnime today we were welcomed by mother nature with an amazing display of HAIL. Our mission today was simple.

Help raise money for Japan.

The same as SacAnime. Although we were raising for American Red Cross Japan relief and Dan was raising for Japan Red Cross relief he was gracious enough to allow us to setup some matsuri-styled festival games, display our cars, and play some music.

The weather didn't detour anyone from appearing in their beautiful cosplays. I was throttled by the good amount of high-spirited fans that continued to arrive throughout the day. I saw a few arrive via taxi cab. We salute you. We ran into a few of our friends as well. Carlyfornia was in her regal cosplay as usual, selling her wares, Oscar Benjamin from examiner.com was running around with his 10 pound camera covering this special event, Jason Dube and his family, Mr. Hyperbooster himself, Bordin Marsinkul, were doing their thing in the vendors hall.

SacAnime raised over six thousand dollars today toward Japan Red Cross! Our hats off to Dan and his crew . Between our charity shirts, matsuri games and raffle we raised almost $100.00!! All things considered(.50 a game) and with what the weather allowed, we are pleasantly suprised with the outcome. If you didn't get your shirt, we will still be taking orders on our website for a little bit longer. Oto's Marketplace Mascot Art Contest

We visited Oto's this past weekend to meet up with Russell Oto, the owner of the marketplace, to talk about the up and coming SacAnime Charity Event Sunday the 15th of May. After wandering around the store for a bit, we went out to look at the cars. Russell mentioned that he was looking for an artist to design a mascot for his market so we said, Alright!!! and we decided to hold an art contest. The prize will be that your design will be all over the place, in their advertising, building (if they go there) and promotional items as well as a $150.00 gift certificate for Oto's Marketplace!!!

Here's a little information about Oto's in case you didn't know...

Oto’s Marketplace is a specialty grocery store specializing in a large selection Japanese and Asian Foods, fresh fish, quality meats, farm fresh produce – brought in by local farmers, homemade bento lunch boxes and made to order sushi. You can click on the link to check it out.

Here are the rules:

Sac Anime. Doing it for Japan.

Few people know this. Team LoveHATE did a bunch of car shows but SacAnime was our first convention. When we arrived we were greeted by many people with open arms. We held a day rave in front of the fountain at the summer SacAnime. We fell in love with the people and the passion that they have for anime. Ever since then we've been hungry for more. Now with Japan in disarray, we hope to raise more money for them so they can get back on their feet.

Dan has invited us out May 15th for a one day event purely to raise money to help Japan Tsunami Relief. We had great success at Decepti-Kon with our charity car show and Silent Auction and hope to see more people come out for this. TLH will be digging in our wallets to make a special limited shirt specifically for this event. For a small donation, you can have one of them and take something back to prove you did what you could to help. We will be having a couple of Matsuri games games out by the cars to help raise money again for the American Red Cross Tsunami Relief Fund. Receipts will be given out upon request.

Loki's Planet invades Sacramento

As I looked over Team LoveHATE's last venture Decepti-Kon a few weeks back, I caught a group of green and blue shirts making there way around the convention. Wherever I went I would catch a glimpse of green out the corner of my eye. I chalked it up to fatigue and kept making my rounds.

The next morning I woke up and was hanging out with some Pirates when I saw the green shirts again. This time I knew that I wasn't tripping and introduced myself. I soon found out that these guys and girls were with Loki's Planet and that they invaded the meetup.com table. I cocked my head at the site because TLH knows all the meetup.com groups that were at our convention and... I didn't know these guys. As I shifted my gaze I caught Impartial Aaron from Drunk Animation beaming in the corner and I realized how Loki's peeps found their way into my vendor area. I looked back at them with an approving stare for they had brainwashed their first fan.

I decided then and there I needed to know more.

After a few days TLH met up with Jonathan and Jeff, the generals of the army, and discussed what the hell their plans for world domination were and how we could help them. So here we are a week later and here is dealeeoo peeps:

Loki's Planet is putting on a Pre Tournament Art Show. 10AM to 5PM will be when all you artists can come out, paint, display your portfolio, and display your version of Loki's Planet while you "Watch it Come Alive" before your eyes. From 5PM to 8PM will be the judging. A paltry $5 bucks gets you in the door. They are STILL LOOKING for talent to come out so hurry up because spots are limited. Second on their list for world domination is their wicked amazing Call of Duty: Black Ops Tournament held May 5th from 4PM to 8PM. This is something I believe Sacramento's gamers need. A pure, clean, competitive atmosphere that takes these gamers out of their houses and into one place where they can prove the mettle. When bragging rights take a back seat to official titles and winners are MADE. TLH are firm believers of making the masses think and riding the cusp of what's hot and what hasn't been done and that's why we are so hyped about this crew. This isn't your uncles LAN party of old. Loki's Planet promises a sleek venue where the gamers rule and PWNing is a daily fact of life. For some secluded gamers this will be a place to call home and show off their skills. LP will also be implementing to all the attendees a special wristband that will be able to track your score on many of the free games they have available to you. The person with the highest score at the end of the night will win a friggin' prize!!! Located at #1067 K St in the Downtown Plaza, just a few doors way from the old Hard Rock Cafe and across from LIDS the spot is easy to access. Lightrail is a short walk away and parking isn't bad. A super big Thank You from Team LoveHATE for everyone who came out to Decepti-Kon Gen1.

This convention was a test for us to see if we could make something new and different in only two months. We had fun and all of the special events went off without a hitch. Team LoveHATE's Charity Car Show and silent auction was able to raise almost $1000.00 towards American Red Cross Tsunami Relief. Big Props to Impartial Auron from Drunk Animation and their army of volunteers, they were the ones running around handing out water for free on Saturday. Without you guys chaos would have ruled the day and for that, TLH thanks YOU.

We also want to apologize to the vendors, special guests and media who were given misinformation prior and during the convention. TLH was also mislead in the same regards. Unfortunately, due to some management issues, TLH Staff and our special event groups have decided that we will no longer be affiliated with Decepti-Kon. We wish them the best in their endeavors.

Three weeks to go people till Decepti-Kon and Team LoveHATE been running around with our heads cut off since we agreed to partner up with Luis on this endeavor. We’ve met many new people and made many new friends along the way.

Last night we were able to shift gears a bit and hang out with Jonathan Fong, founder of Cyclonemovies.com. Cyclone Movies if you don’t already know, is a Sacramento based company that provides and promotes special movie screenings that covers a large area of Northern California. But it wasn’t always that way…

Jon started about two years ago. He first promoted Cyclone Movies out of a yogurt shop in Sacramento. His first movie was, “Shorts”. Since then, he quickly acquired more studio contacts beneath his belt and left the yogurt shop (which I’ve been told is out of business). I believe Jon’s reason and rapid growth for success, besides having a great personality, is his acknowledgement that the screening industry in general was boring. Instead of the “traditional” call in to a radio station or “waiting” online on certain websites for free screening passes Jon has taken an old formula and rewrote it. Cyclonemovies.com’s site is easy to navigate and selecting free screenings is very simple. After you choose your movie, you’re asked to answer a trivia question in order to enter a chance to win forcing you to actually do some research online to find the answer, for me this was pretty entertaining.

Play nice.

After speaking with Jon before the screening of Sucker Punch, he told me several stories where shenanigans were involved in the free screening applications, duplicates, 10 people in a row with the same last name, and “copy & pasters” to name a few. Even a story of a time where the trivia question on the site was true or false. The person put “Answer” in the answer field. Heaven forbid that Jon wants to encourage the masses to think. Shame on you!

TLH had the pleasure of attending the screening of Zach Snyder’s Sucker Punch last night. I never knew that screening companies had “groupies.” Good job brother, Team LoveHATE needs a few of those. Cyclone Movies’ “STREET TEAM”, Jeremy and Allen, the one’s I met, were both very kind and helpful. I watched them maintain crowd control and they all did their part to keep the spirits of the general audience happy. As the night neared, I went outside to see a line that wrapped around the side of the theatre and down past a few shops. Surprisingly, no complaints emanated from the line as the rain continued its drizzle.

Once we were inside the theatre, I watched Jon setup his table with all the promo items from the studio and get ready for the crowd. Once the general public came in Cyclone Movies provided a card game called high/low for anyone to play. If you guess 6 times correct you got a bag or could go on. 8 correct guesses got you a Sucker Punch t-shirt, 10 got you a New Era Sucker Punch hat. Then Jeremy of the “Street Team” did a raffle from some Source Code screening passes and did a trivia question for 1 free pass to Decepti-kon!!!
I’ve been to a few movie screenings and Jonathan Fong’s CycloneMovies.com is truly a breathe of fresh air in an otherwise robotic and stagnant industry. Our hats off to you.

Team LoveHATE hopes go out to Japan

Waking up this morning I was greeted by the news of the Japan's unfortunate survivors and victims of the 8.9 earthquake that created a tsunami that has devastated northeastern Japan. For those of you that don't know, a tsunami is created by the shifting of land on the ocean floor. Here is an example:

The illustration below shows a subduction earthquake (one where a denser plates shifts below its neighboring plate, at left). Energy is transferred and the displaced water forms a wave. As the wave travels and enters shallower water in the coastal area, it begins to increase in amplitude (National Geographic).

SacCon's Devout Arrive En Masse

The weather was a constant drizzle with the occasional burst of heavy rain Sunday at the Scottish Rite Temple, dark clouds loomed overhead jeering at the hundreds of fanboys, otaku and cosplayers who braved the elements to attend Dan Houck’s legendary SacCon. Many attendees even danced and hung around outside to take photos of TLH’s cars regardless of the pouring rain. The love for cosplay and collectables is a strong one indeed.

Although we didn’t setup our flags for display due to the rain, we were surprised at the attendance of this SacCon. Maybe it’s the yearning to share their latest cosplay, or the fact that the list of guests and vendors were too hard to resist. Walking through the convention, you forgot about the weather going on outside. The staff was kind as usual, and the vendors were plenty and of great variety. We saw plenty of our friends there like super movie poster dude, Anthony Leano, cosplay design goddess. Carly Breslin , examiner.com's. Oscar Benjamin and local comic guy, Jason Dube. We also made a few new ones.

All in all, I think SacCon was a success as well as a pleasant surprise for everyone on such a gloomy day.

Team lovehate @ River City Food Bank Fundraiser

So we headed out to Tommy T's Comedy & Dinner Theatre at 10a.m. to setup for the days events. After a hour of setting up and a bit of car shuffling we finally we're happy with our display. We were welcomed with amazing weather and the slight scent of food from the Spaghetti Factory that was right next door to the club.

We watched as the people appeared and met with James, the owner of Tommy T's and the organizer of the River City Food Bank Fundraiser. We also met a fine young man named Michael, a child with Muscular Dystrophy, who happened to be passing by with Bernadette Gonzalez, Fundraising Coordinator with the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Sacramento. Michael loved the cars and we were happy to hook him up with some vinyls for his scooter and took a few pictures for some new memories.

As soon as the food was ready, we all headed upstairs to get our grub on. The club was dimly lit and a live band was playing some blues as we found our seats. After the band finished our friend, William Page showed us to the kitchen where the smells of BBQ'ed chicken and tri-tip awaited us. Once we returned to our seats and proceeded to chow down, the food was freaking amazing! I went back... for thirds. During our meal we listened to FiveStar, a rapper from San Jose, perform his set. I found myself chewing to the baseline. Not bad.

All in all we were able to raise $135.00 for the fundraiser. Although it might not seem like much, every penny we helped raise went to helping the Food Bank find a new home. Marvel vs. Capcom 3 DLC: Price and Release Date Confirmed

According to EuroGamer gamers will be able to download alternative costumes on March 1st, these will cost $5 on PSN and 400 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live.

We can also confirm that Capcom will also roll out some free DLC on the same date, this will be called the Shadow Mobile pack and will allow players to fight against “custom-built computer opponents, modeled after famous players and specific themed teams”. Sadly at the time of this post no date has been set for when Jill Valentine and Shuma-Gorath will be downloadable, therefore we will have to keep you posted.

North Americans managed to get their hands on MVC3 today, therefore I am sure that gamers will be glad to hear that DLC is on its way, but will you spend $5.00 on more costumes?

I love my iPhone 4. Ive been waiting for the jailbreak and it has finally come. Here's the how, what, when and where about it.

Got an iOS device running 4.2.1 that’s in dire need of an untethered jailbreak? Good news; the Chronic Dev Team has released a new solution, GreenPois0n, promising an untethered jailbreak suitable for Mac, Linux or Windows users, and opening up your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to the joys of the Cydia unofficial app store.

Unfortunately, according to Chronic Dev Team member Joshua Hill, the exploit GreenPois0n uses has already been patched by Apple in iOS 4.3. That means there’s only a limited amount of time to make the most of it, and it’s unclear whether it resets the cat & mouse clock in the process.

Still, for the moment iOS 4.2.1 is where it’s at, and GreenPois0n doesn’t demand a jailbreak every time you power cycle your device. Let us know how you get on in the comments.

Okay before I post this I have to say the Carly will be a "boss battle" during the beer pong tournament so don't forget to sign up.

Miss Carly is the artist, designer, seemstress and cosplay/gothic lolita model that is Carlyfornia. She attended the prestigeious FIDM Fashion Instatute in San Fransisco before launching her gothic lolita clothing line in 1999. Carlyfornia has won several awards for her fashion and cosplay designs (at Sac Anime too!) including being crowned Princess Ai by Tokyopop as well as being featured in their magazine and manga. Her graphic design and comic work begain in 1996 with a string of well selling caligraphy and how to draw books. Carlyfornia has since gone on to be a manga and graphic artist for Sakura Pens of Osaka, Pentel Arts of Tokyo, Golden Paints and General Pencil to name a few. She has taught art and sewing in various countries such as China, Japan, India, United Kingdom and here state side. Jason Dube

Jason has been self-publishing under his comic book company Scattered Comics for almost 20 years. Final Fantasy XIII 2 simultaneous release?

I used to think that Final Fantasy XIII-2 was a bad idea, however it is now confirmed that the game has now been officially announced by Square Enix and is coming to both PS3 and Xbox 360.

At the moment details are pretty scarce, according to JoySiq the game will launch in Japan in 2011,but from what we can see, an English version will launch “next Winter”.

As you would have probably already guessed Final Fantasy XIII-2 is a direct sequel to FFXIII, which recieved a great reception when it was released back in December, 2009, therefore it is unsuprising to hear that Motomu Toriyama is also directing the sequel, it is just a shame that English gamers will have to wait almost two years to play it.
You may remember a few months ago they revealed that no FFXIII DLC would be released for the game, I wonder how much of the content originally planned for the add-on has gone into FFXIII-2.

Alexis Bersonda was born on October 22, 1990 in San Francisco, CA where she continues to reside. Raised on a concentrated diet of non-cable cartoons (Beast Wars! Bobby's World! TMNT! =D), her first experiences with anime were more mainstream titles: Dragon Ball Z, Pokemon, Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh. Her elementary diet of kid-saves-world type anime was soon complemented with more substantial and/or adult pieces with the help of her friends: Death Note, Ghost in a Shell, Great Teacher Onizuka, Hellsing (The list goes on!)

Her primary interest is in cars, specifically Nissan 240sx's. She first purchased a 240sx coupe from an individual who served as a Root Administrator for www.norcaldrift.com, a forum for drifters both new and old. After a tragic incident resulted in the loss of her first 240, she spent almost a year jumping through cars, finally getting a 240sx hatch after intensive searching. With this car began rapid acceleration through learning of cars through working on them with the aid of an awesome set of friends. This car quickly went from stock, to near drift-learn ready.

A long time admirer of the group, she existed at the time of Team LoveHate's conception. After much hiatus and sporadic appearances at events, she was officially initated into Team LoveHate on January 9, 2010 through a lovely "ceremony" of Captain Morgan and good music. With this, she hopes to bring the face of Itasha to the drifting world and the Bay Area.

TLH adds two new members at SacAnime and "Through a cosplayers eyes"

Hey peeps, its Jazel again. I've done my share of SacAnime's in the past, this would be my fourth. Over the last couple of years, Team LoveHATE has done car shows, Anime Conventions, and lots of charity work. This weekend, we did a bit of both. As usual, we displayed the Itasha rides everyone has grown to love, but today three things were different. We were helping fulfill the wishes of two very special children with Make a Wish whom also became two official team members. And I was cosplaying for the first time.

Before I go any further, I must say thanks to SacAnime's founder, Dan Houck, for providing both kids five VIP weekend passes each, Jason Dube of “Scattered Comics” providing some of his own rare autographed comics as well as being our liaison with SacAnime, and Steve Crain with Sacramento's Signs by Tomorrow for providing the autograph boards, posters and vinyl’s for the kids. Without you guys their wishes wouldn't have been possible.

Nick and Jason are our first two new members since the inception of Team LoveHATE. We placed a Shin Chan Itasha on Nick's scooter and gave Jason an official Team LoveHATE shirt. We then headed inside to take them on a tour of the con and introduced them to Jason Dube, founder of “Scattered Comics” in the dealer’s hall for a special autograph session. Once we were out of there, Dan Houck made it possible for the kids to get autographs without waiting in line. After they got a few autographs they were itching to head to the gaming room so we made our way through the crowds of cosplayers and across the courtyard to the game rooms and left them to explore the con the rest of the day.

Oh yeah, did I mention during this time I was cosplaying as Master Roshi?

I’ve been watching anime for a while and there are a handful of bald anime characters. I thought Master Roshi would be the best choice for me because I can relate. As soon as I placed the mustache and beard on, grabbed my staff and strapped on my shell I couldn’t help but to fall into character. This being by first time, I was amazed at the comradre that is shared among absolute strangers. As I walked though SacAnime shouts of, “Master Roshi!” and “Roshiiiii in da house!” flew at me from all sides. I was asked for tons of photos and hugs from people who approached me. Thanking me for leaving Kame House, asking me about Dragonballs, and “How’s Goku?” I can see how so many people can fall in love with cosplay. What also suprised me is how much I wanted to cosplay again. The feeling of being sort of a celebrity for a day is pretty addicting, especially if your the only Master Roshi at the Con.

So Sunday arrived the weather was a bit warmer as the sun decided to gret us in the morning, so I decided to be shirtless Master Roshi and make the rounds through the con! That was a super blast. More hugs and photos!!! Also, I was pleased to see both of our TLH prospects make it out. Mike Collepardi and Carlo de Quiroz helped with watching the LoveHATE booth as well as setting up and breaking down Saturday and Sunday. Thank you.

YAY!!! Today is the day that SacAnime rears its awesome head and flexes its guns for all to bow to. The first con of 2011, lead by Dan Houck and his amazing cohorts of all things anime. As soon as you arrive at the Radisson Sacramento you will be subjected to the sights of smiling and eager Cosplayers and the vehicles come to be known as the “Western Revolution of Itasha” Team LoveHATE. Stop by and get a free decal when you sign up for their fan page. Once you enter you will weave your way through the labyrinth of cosplay fans, photographers, media and the rarely seen Radisson staff. Make sure your weapons are peace-knotted for your safety. Inside you will find "artists alley" lead by Jason Dube and his SCCG posse. Plenty of booty to be had in the dealers hall with wares and spices from the far east, beware the leering eyes of hungry figurine collectors. Autographs will be signed throughout the weekend by noblemen and women of anime voice acting birth so be sure to catch them if you can. Famed warriors of the “Mighty Morphing Rangers of Power” will also be present. You must not forget to forage the elements this weekend and make it outside to witness the alluring and exotic sounds of music from j-rock and pop minstrels. Well hope to see you there.

Gears of War HD pics and how to Get the beta

We have a treat for Gears of War fans now, as Epic has just released some previously unseen screenshots for the highly anticipated third title in the long running and successful franchise.

There are nine new images to view in total, and you’ll be able to view them in high quality over at HookedGamers. If you aren’t aware yet, Gears of War 3 has been scheduled for release on the Xbox 360 sometime during fall, after the initial planned release in April was delayed.

Unlike Gears of War 2, the new game will introduce three female characters into the game and you can see what one of them looks like in the image below, dressed up in typical Gears of War attire.

Don’t forget that there will also be a multiplayer beta for the game, which will start in April. If you want to take part, you’ll have to purchase a copy of Bulletstorm – another first person shooter from Epic Games due out on February 22nd.

After a season has passed, Team LoveHATE is proud to announce their return to SacAnime. Marvel Vs Capcom 3: New Characters and Twitter Leaks

We have some pretty exciting details for Marvel Vs Capcom fans now, as rumors have gone into overload over the last week or so, with regards to the remaining character reveals and also other juicy information yet to be officially announced by Capcom.

As reported from Shoryuken, a few leakers thought to be very close to Capcom and Marvel have been revealing information on social networking website Twitter, information which Capcom are intending to reveal soon.

One of the leakers in question, ‘Klennox22′ has already had his/her Twitter account removed, but not before all the relevant information was copied. Afterwards, a second MvC3 leaker entered the scene, and is also revealing solid information on the game.

If we were to believe what has been leaked, then the remaining characters for the game include the likes of Akuma (Capcom), Taskmaster (Marvel), Hsien-Ko (Capcom), Haggar (Capcom), Sentinel (Marvel) and Phoenix (Marvel). Furthermore, we’re also hearing reports that Galactus is the final boss in the game, but he won’t be a playable character.

There is also information with regards to Venom, Blade and Gambit being left off the roster list – it’s all pretty interesting. Head to Shoryuken to read all of the information for yourself – don’t forget that none of this is official yet, but it looks very promising you have to agree.

SacCon is an amazing meeting of comic book stores, comic artists, card tournaments, and voice actors. We had the privilege of being allowed to appear to help support the Marines Toys for Tots. After we parked the cars out in front of the Scottish Rite Temple we headed on it to drop off our Toys for Tots donation and grab our wristbands. First to greet us was Dan Houck, one of the head honchos of SacCon and a few of the staff.

After receiving our wristbands we headed into the main area. Tons of goodies and tournament was underway on stage and a sign posted saying that Laura Bailey would be on at 12:30 had us totally stoked. We visited the SCCG room and there I met with Jason Dube, one of the founders. After chatting it up with Jason and finding what I was looking for (Manga MTG Planeswalkers) I headed outside to wait for Laura Bailey. Rob said he would handle asking her to come out to sign the Burst Angel car. She did some voice acting for the show so we were really excited about having her autograph Rob's ride.

As she came out, we were greeted with nothing but smiles from her and she was incredibly kind and super photogenic. She signed the Burst Angel car as well as my iPad Case. Thank you Laura Bailey, Team LoveHATE loves you!!!

Shriners, EuroSunday and Team LoveHATE...an amazing "Rally for the Kids"

Early Sunday morning we rolled out to Shriners Hospitals for Children. We were the first club to arrive so we spent the first thirty minutes watching them finish setting up as we wiped down and decorated the cars. They even used Rob's car to test the photography equipment before EuroSunday's "Rally for Kids" benefit could begin. With people scurrying to and fro, and the DJ testing out the audio system, you could feel the energy and excitement of the event despite the cold air. Several European cars were already poised beneath the arches within the circular driveway which was to become the "winners circle" for the event. It was during that time we were also able to finally meet Mike Ritenour, director of events for EuroSunday and his super friendly staff.

Finally it was time.We rolled up the cars and took our photos in a "winners circle" style display complete with a checkered finish line. Once we got out of the car, we posed for the camera with the toys we donated. Afterward, we rolled our cars into place within the winners circle and began final prep for the day ahead of us.

As the day went on, my senses were constantly assailed. From the wide variety of Christmas music that filled the air to the languid scent of exhaust fumes. The combination made me think of what Christmas on a racetrack might be like.

EuroSunday also offered free donuts and coffee which were located inside along with a raffle of many great gifts. Shriners offered guided tours throughout the day for anyone interested in learning more about what Shriners Hospitals for Children does for the kids in the community. Shriners has motion capture equipment to help determine the precise prosthetics for the patients to apartments for families to help with their living conditions for more severe cases, everything in the building is donated. We also met with Alan Anderson, Director of Development for Shriners. He was very kind and extremely busy with everything going on so the meeting was understandably brief but well met.

Many car clubs from many places appeared throughout the day. The Mustang, Ferrari, Volkswagen, Corvette, Ford, and BMW to name just a few, were among the many groups that rolled though the winners circle on Sunday to help support this event. Remember, they all brought toys so by the time we left, there were literally hundreds of toys. You couldn't help by smile.

The spirit of giving was the most I've ever seen at any one charity event, and I have been dealing with charities now for of eight years. We here at Team LoveHATE applaud EuroSunday, Shriners Hospitals for Children, and every single person who made the trip out there on Sunday. You are all amazing people and we consider ourselves honored to be a part of "Rally for the Kids". Thank you for having us and we can't wait till then next cause!!!

Team LoveHATE will be appearing at EuroSunday's "Rally for Kids" from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM to help benefit the Shriners Hospital for Children Sunday morning. The toy drive will help children who are suffering from acute burns, spinal cord injuries and complex orthopedic conditions.

From there we will be heading out to SACCON, Sacramento's Comic Book and Toy Show to help support the Marine's Toys for Tots till 5 PM.

This holiday season SACCON and the United States Marines Toys For Tots Foundation is teaming up again to bring joy to children and families.

When convention attendees bring a new toy, they will receive a $1.00 off admission.

SACCON not only encourages people attending the convention to bring a new toy donation, but we also invite people to come by and donate a toy to Toys For Tots. Everyone is welcome to bring their donation by the convention between 10:00 am – 5:00 pm.

New Mortal Kombat Characters Revealed

I LOVE me some Mortal Kombat so you can bet I’m covering this game till release. I started playing MK when it first came out. I totally rocked with Raiden and my brother killed it with Johnny Cage (MKII). We religiously anchored ourselves at the local 7 Eleven’s MKII machine with towels covering our hands so people couldn’t see the moves as groups of kids lined to stack their quarters to play us. Implementing the “pity 2nd round rule” just to help the nice kids save face and evoking “flawless victories” on the cocky ones Mortal Kombat II was to me the best of the series.

Well, MK is back if you didn’t know and there’s been reports online that God of War’s Kratos will be added (available only of you get the PS3 version) to the growing character roster to the upcoming Mortal Kombat game, we now have a lengthy list of new, but rumored characters whom will be joining them.

According to this report from RealmofGaming, several audio files were discovered on the official Mortal Kombat website, and these files contained intro voiceovers and theme music for a collection of unannounced Mortal Kombat characters.

The files have since been removed, but not before RealmofGaming had a chance to get the juicy information. The characters that were listed on the official website include Ermac, Goro, Kabal, Noob Saibot, Quan Chi, Shang Tsung, Sindel, Smoke and Stryker.

Interestingly, there was also a listing for a human version of Sektor, the robot who has already been confirmed in the game. Aside from the character leaks, there were also audio files for ‘Test your Might’ and ‘Brutalities’ – which should please those of you who enjoyed them in Mortal Kombat Trilogy.

Don’t forget, this hasn’t been confirmed by NetherRealm Studios yet, so perhaps we shouldn’t get our hopes up too much. Hey, Raiden and Cage are there so you can bet I will be too.

Team LoveHATE takes home two trophies from Nor Cal Scion Toy Drive Car Show

December 4th Vallejo, CA. The weather was cold and wet in the Toy r Us parking lot on Saturday, but it didn't keep the spirits down for all who attended. Lots of people showed up the the Toys for Tots Car Show hosted by Nor Cal Scion and sponsored by Toys r Us. We would like to thank James Agpalasin, Dray Martinez and the Nor Cal Scion team for helping us and orchestrating the events throughout the day they were all kind and courteous.

Although the rain was on and off all day, people continued to come and donate toys for the Marines' Toys for Tots. I saw three boxes filled with toys and was very impressed with the crowd turnout and the spirit of giving that was on display despite the gloomy weather. Many people take what they have for granted nowadays so seeing this many people giving is quite heartfelt. As the day when on, several raffles were held and prizes we handed out, including a autographed signed San Francisco 49ers Ronnie Lot football.

Although the event was ended a couple of hours early due to certain upset cigarette store owner who said that his customers had nowhere to park and complained to the property manager, (I personally thought he was rude and he didn't care about the fund raising aspect of the car show) we met many new people and a few old friends one that do the car show circuit. Team LoveHATE made a few new fans and even learned how to "Dougy" from a couple for kids who hung out with us pretty much all day. The finale of the day was the award ceremony. Nor Cal Scion crafted some very amazing trophies that were awarded to Best team (a broken rim), Hottest Ride (a fire extinguisher), the Marines choice, Geoffrey's Choice and three crowd favorites (all pistons). Team LoveHATE was very thankful to be recognized by the fans and took home 3rd Place Peoples Choice Award and the Geoffrey's Choice. We would would like to also thank all who entered, attended and supported this amazing event. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

COD Black Ops Refund: Petition From PS3

Okay, I bitched about this damn game before and I ran across this article today so if you own the PlayStation 3 version of Call of Duty: Black Ops you may feel a little burned, this is because not only do Xbox 360 gamers get DLC first, but there is also no online split-screen mode and experts also suggest that Xbox 360 version has superior graphics.

Some PS3 gamers are extremely upset with Treyarch, to the point that they have signed an online petition demanding a full refund, if you are one of these annoyed gamers you can sign the petition here.
To be honest with you the annoyed gamers do have a point, previous PS3 releases have shown the full potential of the hardware, therefore Black Ops’ below par graphics are inexcusable, also you would think that a multi-platform release should bring the same features to all consoles.

Team LoveHATE joins SCCG Live Art Charity Event

Team LoveHATE will be showing their cars and are looking for more car teams, clubs, groups and friends to roll through and show their support for Toys for Tots December 18th from 11am to 8pm. This year, the SCCG (Sacramento Comicbook Creators Group) along with other artists are coming together once again to help out Santa as they for a live drawing session and auction to raise money for the Marines Toys For Tots Drive again this year as they gather at Empire’s Comics to help this fantastic charity. They will also be collecting toys during the event.

The artists will be participating in drawing original artwork each using their different and unique art styles; they will also be on hand to do commissioned art work with all funds going to the Toys For Tots charity; you can participate on the Internet where you can watch these talented artists but also bid and win on original artwork and perhaps commission an artist to draw that favorite cartoon, super-hero, anime or manga character.

In addition, this year we are honored to have special guest from San Francisco, horror hostess and author Reyna Young. Two NEW trailers that I think you'll like

They just released the official Green Lantern and Cowboys & Aliens Trailers. DC comics has had it rough with the exception of the recent Batmans' so i hope they got the formula right with Green Lantern. I think it looks pretty sweet. It's directed by Martin Campbell. Opening in 3D and 2D theaters on June 17, the action adventure stars Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, Tim Robbins, Mark Strong, Taika Waititi, Temuera Morrison, Angela Bassett, Jay O. Sanders and Jon Tenney.

The second trailer is Cowboys & Aliens. We're suckers for sci-fi westerns. Universal Pictures has revealed the trailer for Cowboys & Aliens, the Jon Favreau-directed graphic novel adaptation starring Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford, Olivia Wilde, Sam Rockwell, Adam Beach, Paul Dano, Noah Ringer, Keith Carradine, Clancy Brown, Ana de la Reguera and Abigail Spencer. Apple releases The Beatles

Good morning everyone. Today Apple just announced that The Beatles is now available to download through iTunes.

You can download your favorite songs from all 14 of The Beatles’ original studio albums or get the complete Box Set from iTunes. Apple sure hyped this on their homepage yesterday by saying “Tomorrow is just another day. That you’ll never forget”. I have a feeling I will because this announcement was not really exciting.

I first read of this on my PS3 Playstation Life channel over the weekend. I thought I’d do some digging around for those who might be interested…
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that the social network will be launching a new messaging product that will give users a "@facebook.com" email address.
Zuckerberg went over a few features that will define Facebook's new angle, which is being dubbed as a "modern messaging product" which will include, seamless messaging, conversation history, and a social inbox for "filtering only the messages you want to see."
"This is not an email killer," Zuckerberg said. "This is a messaging system that includes email as one part of it."
The Facebook messaging system ties in multiple forms of communication from Facebook and other platforms to give users the ability to communicate in real-time, through whichever messaging tool they choose. "You decide how you want to talk to your friends: whether it is via SMS, chat, email or Messages. They will receive your message through whatever medium or device is convenient for them, and you can both have a conversation in real time," Facebook wrote in a blog post.
Facebook will be rolling this out over the coming months, initially via invite-only. All Facebook users will eventually be offered "@facebook.com" email addresses that match their public usernames.

Team LoveHATE takes home Finest Vinyl Graphic Award

It was a long day the Remix World of Dance event at the Solano County Fairgrounds in Vallejo, CA yesterday. TLH logged in about thirteen hours of beautiful weather with the temperature dialed in at about 70 degrees all day.

After about two hours of waiting for our designated spots we finally were able to unload and begin setting up our display. After about thirty minutes we were actually able to stop and enjoy the scene for the first time.

As the day went on, the deep sounds of monster-sized sound systems rumbled just below the constant buzzing as hundreds of people enjoying themselves filled the air. A couple of hundred cars,
teams, and vendors made up the bulk of the festivities outside. Inside the auditorium was food as well as the main stage for the dance competitions which were being held all day. We were fortunate enough to meet tons of new people and a few old friends, from car clubs to dance troops and from models to mommies with their kids just out for a nice afternoon.
When the sun went down it was like another show. Cars illuminated the fairground with their under glow and LED lights and the vendors and car clubs with DJ's turned on their setups to get the night time vibe going. We constantly were explaining to people and photographers how the reflective elements of our vinyl worked so they could get the best shots possible and this was also when the judges made it to our cars. After spending about five minutes basically pitching your car, the judge moves on to the next one.

Well, after many homemade sandwiches and Captain & Diet Rockstar the show finally came to an end and we packed up and headed to the main stage for the award ceremony. It was 11pm when the first awards were handed out. As we waited for the category we were gunning for we saw many people we met during the day winning awards. When our category came up and they announced us we screamed like little girls and I got in line to accept the trophy.
I am personally very happy about this particular trophy because since Team LoveHATE entered the car scene and started showing our rides Itasha was hated more than loved, rather misunderstood. People whom were embedded in the whole car show circuit as well as auto purists raised an eyebrow at what we were doing because it was so unheard of. Forums blasted us and car enthusiasts snickered as they walked by us at a show. We knew going into this that they were either going to love us or hate us and it was an overall crazy idea, but to finally get the nod from the the general car scene and acknowledged by our peers is pretty damn sweet. Now that everyone knows what we bring in the form of Itasha and Graphic Vinyls you better believe we wont be sitting our laurels. Expect to see TLH and SBT to continue to push the envelope in the future. Be sure to check out our facebook fan page to see the photos from the show!!!

Before COD: Black Ops came out snooty reviewers complained about the graphics and we didn’t listen. Now if you are like me and you’re a fan of the COD franchise, you probably ran out and bought the game. I decided to wait. Now that hundreds of thousands of people have bought the game player reviews are coming in all over the net I'm glad I did. Many people are complaining that the graphics are washed out and some say that WaW looks better as well as the sound being sub par to previous COD’s, very garbled and unrefined. New TRON Legacy Trailer YAY!!!

Ok ok ok… It’s Jazel here, and I grew up in the 80’s. Ahhhhh…the 80’s. The 80’s is where I watched my first anime series called Star Blazers, went to the theater to catch the original Transformers the Movie, and watched The Empire Strikes Back. It was a time where all 7-Eleven’s had arcade units, and I ran home to play on my Atari 2600 and checked the mailbox for the latest issue of Texas Instruments, so I could type up code to play a game (every issue had several pages of code you had to type to make a game). One day this commercial came on for a movie where the people’s clothing all glowed and special effects were awesome. At the end of the commercial was the word TRON. So I begged my uncle to take me, and I was blown away by the cutting edge graphics and the fancy lingo they used. I was instantly a fan.

Well here we are now in 2010, and Hollywood is slowly eating themselves from the inside out with all of their remakes, reboots, prequels and book to movie adaptations, so what makes TRON any different? I caught the first screen test online and was kind of stoked because the technology to do it right was here but a little disappointed because I thought it was a yet another remake. It wasn’t until I caught the first trailer in 3D while watching Alice in Wonderland that I was washed over with nostalgia. The feeling of urgency to relive my past with all the bells and whistles of today’s technology. I think the saving grace of this movie is that it can stand alone. You don’t have to watch the first one to get it. Its not a remake, reboot or prequel that Hollywood has scavenged from the graveyard of IP’s.

Kintoki-con and Team LoveHATE Meet n Greet

Sooooo last night Team LoveHATE and Kintoki-con’s staff met up for our first “meet and greet” potluck party. TLH had a blast and i’m pretty sure Kintoki did as well. As the night let on people continued to trickle in with food ranging from cupcakes to some bomb-ass pesto until the countertops and table were full of yummy nomnom’s. I met techies, maids, artists as well as the admins. All were kind and polite. I did learn that “E” is a beast at beerpong, so much so that his “tactics” thwarted even the most stoic of TLH beerpong team. (That’s all I’m gonna say) Jonas “cheats” at cooking mama. (How does that work?) And Nicole’s laptop is fused to her body. Overall, I am very pleased with the turnout and I thank everyone who made it. It’s my hope that TLH and Kintoki can enjoy each others company again and help each other grow in the future.

After his stint with Nicoli Bolas something seems different…Maybe it’s his FREAKIN FLAMING RED ARM?!?. Could we be possibly looking at a new Tezzeret in the next set of the Mirrodin called Beseiged? Maybe a U/B/R or U/R? We love new planeswalkers here at TLH! What do you guys think?

MTG Mirrodin Besieged Spoilers

Some of us here at Team LoveHATE love Magic the Gathering. Well, for everyone else that does too, Mirrodin Besieged is the name of the second expansion set of the Scars of Mirrodin block and is set to be released on February 4th, 2011. I wasn’t too impressed with the first block with only a handful of cards appearing that I really wanted. That doesn’t stop me...
from keeping an eye out for special cards in the set.
The prereleases for this set will be in late January and will be quite different from other releases. Special Mirrodin booster packs will be from either the Mirran or the Phyrexian faction will be given to players during the prerelease as well as three Besieged regular booster packs. I’ve got to try this out.
My son and I played in a draft at my favorite local store, Great Escape Games, here in Sacramento. They have a huge warehouse in the back filled with tables where they hold all their tournaments. The staff is extremely kind and its very family oriented. They helped us out with filling out our DCI cards and filed us in on the rules of the draft.

Giants fair-weather fans

I’m not a huge baseball guy even though I played nine years, but, I can’t help but get caught up in the World Series this year because wherever you go here in Sacramento people are wearing San Francisco Giants gear. I have a few thrashed Giants hats that I’ve owned forever that I still rock to this day because I’ve always liked the Giants over the A’s. I guess my short blog today goes out to all the people who just bought that new jacket or just bought that new Giants hat because now it matters. Because now their doing something and we have to take notice, we have to be part of something bigger. What happens if they lose? Will you return the Jacket? Post on Craigslist that crispy New Era hat? So if your one of those people that’s never owned a piece of Gaints clothing until they started doing things, go home and rub some dirt on that new hat and jacket. Unless you really did save that receipt… just in case.

Not your normal Team LoveHATE interview

Last night I interviewed some members from TLH. Usually these things are pretty cut and dry or just plain boring. This interview was far from that. I got a chance to ask the Urban Otaku’s some personal questions as well as trying to get a glimpse into the future of TLH. At one point, the camera was turned on me and I went from interviewer to interviewee…

All while playing beer pong.

Now if you’ve seen their cars, you know they work hard and that months of design, application and modification go into these fabulous Itasha rides. On an average, 3 months per car with the only payment being pizza or beer. It isn’t until the cars hit the road, convention or car show that the effort is truly realized. So when the team gets together to relax…

They play hard.
